Three Mineral Co. residents to be honored at county fair
The Mineral County Fair will honor three of its distinguished citizens in the parade that takes place 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7.
The honoree will be Mary Jo Berry. She has lived in Mineral County for 27 years. She has been on the Fair Board of Directors, the Pioneer Council, the Airport Board, a Hospice volunteer and works with The Performing Arts Council, the Red Cross and most notably will be recognized by the Disabled American Veterans for driving 12,900 miles in serving veterans in Missoula and Mineral County.
The Grand Marshals will be Ed and Leslie Heppe. They have been married for 25 years and have both lived in Superior for 30 years. Ed worked at Diamond Match sawmill and for the school district, was president of the Wood Workers Union and the Quartermaster for the VFW. Leslie owns Paw Spa in Superior and was president of Friends of The Library for 20 years.
The fair is scheduled for Aug. 5-7 in Superior.
