| March 17, 2021 12:00 AM

Carrie Louise Miliate, 58, passed away on 10th day of March, 2021, at her family’s home in Plains, Montana.

She was born on Aug. 14, 1962, in Torrance, California to James and Elizabeth Gillibrand. In 1998, she moved to Paradise, Montana, where she raised her three boys, and worked at Clark Fork Valley Hospital.

She had since worked as a nurse throughout the state, bringing care, attention, and joy to all her patients. Before entering hospice care in 2019, she lived in Helena with long-term partner Ken Wheat.

In the rare moments of quiet between caring for her children and a demanding job, she was a creative cook, avid reader, and a regular at community events. She will be remembered for her supportive, patient, and nurturing personality to family and friends.

She is survived by her father, James; younger brother, Thomas; elder sister, Kathy; three sons, Brandon, Josh, and Tyler; and her granddaughter, Lacee.

The whole family would like to extend their gratitude to the excellent staff at Clark Fork Valley Hospital and Hospice for the high-quality care and companionship they offered Carrie during her two-year struggle with terminal cancer.
