Hot Springs, Noxon end regular season with defeats

In 6-man football action, Hot Springs and Noxon each suffered defeats last Friday, but both will be in this weekend’s playoffs.

In the West Division, White Sulphur Springs eked out an 8-6 win over the Hot Springs Savage Heat.

Kyle Lawson's 1-yard TD run gave Hot Springs the lead, but the extra point was missed.

The Hornets scored later in the second quarter and converted the extra point for the win.

White Sulphur is 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the West. Hot Springs fell to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the West. The Savage Heat will play at Medicine Lake/Froid at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Also, Valley Christian routed Noxon, 52-20. Valley, 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the West, led 36-0 at halftime.

Noxon, 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the West, got touchdown runs from Cade VanVleet (5) and Brian Risch (9). Derreck Christensen threw a 39-yard TD pass to Shamus Wheeldon.

Noxon will play at Shields Valley at 7 p.m. Friday.
