Amelia A. Best (Sorenson)
Our beloved mother passed away on Feb. 8, 2022, in Ronan.
Mom was born July 10, 1939, in Plains, to Gladys Sorenson and Albert Sorenson. Her father passed away when Amelia was 9 years old. Her parents had a total of eight children together. A
melia married Kenneth Best in 1966. They were quite the family with the seven kids in tow.
Amelia was known for her sharp sense of humor, and she was an avid fan of the University of Montana Grizzlies football team.
Amelia was a CNA at a nursing home for many years in Sandpoint, Idaho. She loved her job and taking care of people.
She made friends with everyone and if you were one of the lucky ones, she adopted you as part of her family.
Amelia is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; mother, Gladys Schutters; stepfather, Orville Schutters; her brothers,
Rodrick, Velmer, Willard, Carl and Buck; and her sisters, Gladys and Merceda.
Amelia loved all her children: Roger, Lonnie, Luenna, Kevin, Edward, Vern, and Kenny and their spouses. She was lucky to have so many that loved her including her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to say a special thank you to Luke’s Extended Care in Ronan. They were more than caregivers, nurses, they were family to our mom. She loved everyone there.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this year, per her wishes.
