Trout Creek Senior Center hosts two events in July
The Trout Creek Senior Center will be hosting two events in July. The first event will be an Open House on Saturday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The second event is the Trout Creek Senior Center Yard Sale on Saturday, July 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The purpose of the Open House is to share with anyone, and everyone, the changes and improvements that have been made at the Trout Creek Senior Center over the past two years. Door prizes will be given out every half hour, must be present to win. We will raffle two turkeys at $1 per ticket or $5 for six tickets – need not be present to win.
Through the benefit of grant monies, and gracious donations by so many, we have been able to completely remodel our building inside. Our kitchen was relocated and a new oven, dishwasher, stainless steel cabinetry and prep table were installed. The main dining room was painted, new flooring, windows and tables were installed, and a stainless steel salad bar was purchased using 2020/2021 COVID funds. Additional stainless steel cabinetry was recently purchased using 2022 grant monies from Western Montana Area VI Agency on Aging.
The Center provides meals on Tuesdays and Fridays. Starting with soup and salad at 5 p.m.; dinner is at 6 p.m. Suggested Donations are: Over 60 yrs - $5; Under 60 yrs - $7 and Under 12 yrs - $4. Your meal includes main entrée, fruit, vegetable and dessert.
Our menus are posted each month on our Facebook Page. We would like to stress that you do not need to be a senior citizen to eat at the Trout Creek Senior Center – we are open to ALL ages. And you do not need to live in Trout Creek to eat at the Center; it’s open to anyone who steps inside.
Friday nights, after dinner, we play BINGO – starting around 6:45 p.m. You don’t need to eat a meal with us to come play BINGO. So mark your calendars for Saturday, July 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and come and enjoy cake, refreshments and see what volunteers have accomplished with support from generous businesses and individuals. It will make you proud!
The Trout Creek Senior Center Yard Sale will be held Saturday, July 30, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. This will be an indoor-outdoor sale. In addition to the sale, we are asking for school supply donations, which will be distributed to local schools. Money from the Yard Sale will be used to complete other projects we have on our to-do list, such as: a new Senior Center sign; improved lighting (inside and out); new siding; sealing the basement and much more. There is always maintenance and upkeep and to do that we need funding.
So come on down to the Yard Sale on Saturday, July 30 and pick up your hidden treasure.
