American Legion holds flag retirement ceremony

On Tuesday June 14, the American Legion Montana Post 13 - Ray Welch, held its annual Flag Day Retirement Ceremony on an unusually cold and blustery afternoon at their legion building next to the Clark Fork River.
Around a dozen post members were present as they properly and honorably disposed close to 40 American flags.
Post Adjutant Scott Burrows remarked, "These flags come from all over town, various businesses, a lot come from the school, many of them are locals who personally fly a flag at their home. We always have people asking us what they are supposed to do with their flags that have gotten worn out. So they get dropped off throughout the year and we collect them for this service."
