Chaos and disrespect

| March 2, 2022 12:00 AM

Utter chaos and confusion is what engulfed the meeting room of the Republican Party when they met last week. With it being the first meeting I attended, I went eager and excited to be surrounded by like-minded individuals. I was disappointed, walking into the meeting room, to find that not only was there chaos, but disrespect between the old and new guard.

It was evident that the head chair did not know his role in running a meeting. There was blunt bullying that occurred with thoughts different than his. Inappropriate pounding of the gavel, and shouting arose – this was not a conducive environment to initiate change.

The challenge that the Republican Party is facing is authority. People at this meeting, new and old, were not respected with their thoughts. Having been a new attendee to this meeting, I experienced lots of degradation to myself and others who also were attending for the first time. After experiencing the disjointedness of what was that meeting, I question why anyone would continue to attend!

And so, my purpose of this message is as follows: The Republican Central Committee deserves to be served with cohesion and unity. We see disrespect and lack of authority in all parts of our nation, but what are we doing to fix that? Change starts at the smallest level. I want to emphasize the need for order and respect at these meetings, because the old guard has a lot to teach the new so long as both sides are willing to cooperate. We need to reach out to each other for support, rather than fight.
