Thompson Falls elementary school teacher, Jessica Lewis is teaching history to sixth-graders in unique ways. For the third year, her students have been asked to choose a historic figure from an ancient civilization to study.

That assignment also required each student to assemble a story board, memorize important facts and share their knowledge of the person they chose.

The presentation took place on Wednesday, March 9 in the Thompson Falls Elementary School gym with many of the younger students, and the parents present.

Lewis came up with the idea from her middle school days as a student herself in Coalstrip.

Each student was graded on their presentation, both written and verbal, as well as the paper they wrote on the individual. She felt that the kids were excited to present their work to everyone present.
