Local students, in conjunction with the Missoula Children’s Theatre and sponsored by the Plains Women’s Club, performed the play "The Emperor’s New Clothes" in the Plains school gym.

The play is based on the pressures of “Dress for success,” when the way a person dresses is based on the opinions of others and how that impacts others.

Cast members put a lot of enthusiasm and spirit in to the play. The play was greatly enjoyed by family members and community alike.

The Women’s club of Plains has been sponsoring the play, which is put on every other year.

Debbie Kirschbaum, president of The Women’s Club, said that bringing the arts and theater to the Plains area is a very important part of their fundraising efforts. However, the costs of sponsoring the plays exceed the funds that they raise.

The Women’s Club works closely with the Missoula Children’s Theater to give the local children the opportunity to take part in the theatre experience.

Over the last year the Missoula Children’s Theatre has worked with 65,000 children in more than 1,200 communities in all 50 states and 17 countries and relies on donations to continue touring.
