Local 4-H members celebrate award winners
Sanders County 4-H members and volunteers came together Sunday, Nov. 6 to celebrate and award their young members during their annual 4-H Achievement Days banquet.
The Sanders County Fairgrounds pavilion was filled to capacity, to celebrate and recognize members, leaders and volunteers for their achievements and hard work throughout 2022. Good food and conversation started things off, followed by the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Master of ceremonies, Mikiah Cook, who is a Youth State 4-H officer, started off the award presentations. Cook spoke about her time as a 4-H member and learning from her accomplishments as well as her failures.
The six clubs in the Sanders County 4-H program, Heron-Noxon Explorers, Hot Spring Wranglers, Thompson Falls Mountaineers, Trout Creek Mavericks, Whitepine Happy Workers and the South Side Sparks were recognized with awards.
The youth of 4-H received recognition in many different categories from citizenship to woodworking, raising and breeding livestock and the arts.
Several of those that were recognized for the achievements were: Ava Taylor with the Junior Dog Showing Award; Sydner Wilson, from The Whitepine Happy Workers Club, for the Super Steer Award and Katelyn Christensen, from the Hot Springs Wranglers Club, for the Arche McDonald Award.
