The First Responder BBQ Fundraiser on April 22 was put on in conjunction with the Mineral Community Hospital following the hostage situation and shooting that took place in St. Regis back in March. Fire Chief Scott Dodd, and Trauma Coordinator Angela Visintin came up with the idea for the event the very next morning in hopes of supplying area responders with bullett proof vests and restore some peace of mind.
