Emergency personnel were paged out Friday at 12:43 p.m. for a house fire at 304 Clayton Street in Plains.

Volunteers from both Plains Paradise Rural Fire District and the Plains Fire Department responded to a fully engulfed house fire. Local law enforcement officers and the Plains Community Ambulance were also called to the scene.

A dozen emergency vehicles were paged out to fight the blaze, as smoke rose high into the afternoon sky. Extensive water, smoke and fire damage occurred both inside and outside the residence, as well as to a vehicle parked in an adjoining carpark.

The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.
