| December 20, 2023 12:00 AM

The Montana Department of Transportation is planning work that will address landslides along Montana 200 near Heron.

The project begins 2.5 miles east of the Montana-Idaho border and extends for approximately 4 miles.

Proposed work includes drainage improvements, slope stabilization activities and restoration work. The purpose of this project is to enhance roadway safety features and extend the service life of this section of highway.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2025, depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations should be needed.
