Brown honored as Plains Teacher of the Year

Plains teacher Lisa Brown was honored last week with the Teacher of the Year award for the Plains community.
The award was presented during the Brain Bash event by VFW Post 3596 Commander Ron Kilbury. The award is based on the nominations from local community members.
Brown also received Teacher of the Year Award from VFW District One Commander Heather Allen. This award encompasses a much broader geographical area, with the final voting being on the national level.
Along with the plaque, Brown received $100.
Kilbury and Allen also presented the Patriot Award to elementary sixth-grade students Briauna Kulawinski and Miranda Dawson.
