Community group hosts baby shower for new moms

New moms and mothers to be from Alberton, Superior and St. Regis gathered at the fairgrounds in Superior on June 10 for the first ever Mineral Community Baby Shower.
Hosted by the Mineral County Parents as Teachers group, over a dozen mamas came to partake in the afternoon of joyful festivities, connection and collaboration. The shower was open any expectant mothers or moms who had babies within the past six months to celebrate alongside, socialize, be introduced to community resources, eat scrumptious food and win some amazing prizes.
A mountain of diapers and wipes were on display to be distributed thanks to a community wide diaper drive early this spring. Volunteers provided various duties like designated baby holders, aka, experienced Grandmas were onsite to allow new Mom's the chance to relax, eat and mingle with others gals.
Guests participated in baby shower games, a onesie tie-dye station and raffles for gifts like car seats, pack-and-plays, and baby outfits.
The goal is to offer this community wide baby shower every six months to offer up support and generate a sense of "village" for new moms and growing families throughout Mineral County.
