Road work planned between St. Regis and Paradise

With plenty of notice and time for comments, the Montana Department of Transportation is announcing and inviting public input on a proposed resurfacing project that includes Montana 200, Montana 135 and Cold Creek Road outside of St. Regis.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction next year, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
Joel Boucher, Acting Pre-Construction Engineer for the Missoula District, shared what is being done.
“As far as the construction dates are concerned, I don’t have those in concrete right now,” he said. “We’ll be removing the full surface in an 11-mile stretch near St. Regis which will be on Montana 135 and then replace with all new asphalt. And on the section of Cold Creek Road off I-90 at Exit 33, we’re just going to be doing a crack seal on that followed by chip sealing it. This will be all the way up to where the gravel road starts. On Montana 200 over by Plains, we’re just going to be doing an overlay.”
Work on Montana 200 begins just northwest of 2nd Street in Paradise and extends about half a mile southeast of the intersection with Montana 135. Work on Montana 135 begins just north of the interstate ramps in St. Regis and extends just past mile marker 11. Work on Cold Creek Road begins at the intersection with the eastbound Interstate 90 (I 90) on-ramp and extends to southeast of St. Regis.
