Sheriff's Office IDs body found in river
The Mineral County Sheriff's Office on Friday identified the body of a Missoula man that was recovered from the Clark Fork River earlier in the week.
According to Sheriff Ryan Funke, the decedent was presumptively identified as Joseph Thompson, missing from Missoula County since April 11.
"Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the Thompson family," Funke said in a press release.
The Mineral County Sheriff's Office is still waiting for DNA results for positive identification. These results will take approximately two weeks.
The investigation into the death is ongoing, Funke said.
