Telecommunications service provider Intermountain Infrastructure Group plans to install fiber optic cable between Thompson Falls and Plains.

The installation will be between mile marker 57 and 59 on Montana 200. Construction will start Monday, April 10, weather permitting, and should take approximately 10 days to complete.

Installation of the cable route will help to expand the availability and reliability of the rural broadband services in Montana.

Traffic control with pilot cars will be directing traffic 24 hours a day for the length of the project. Traffic will be down to one lane, reducing speed limits to thirty-five mph. Delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected in the work zones.
