The Buddy Spangler Memorial River Clean Up, held Saturday, Aug. 18, was a massive success, organizers say.

More than 50 volunteers participated by boat from Tarkio to St. Regis and on foot walking the shoreline of the St. Regis River from Henderson to the confluence of the Clark Fork River at public access sites.

Spearheaded by the Mineral County Rec Club, businesses and organizations gobbled up sponsorships, helping with cash, food, trash bags, trailers and volunteers. Families were able to introduce their children to the joys of volunteering in their communities.
