Thompson Falls purchases two new police vehicles
The streets of Thompson Falls will soon see two new police patrol vehicles thanks to a grant from the Montana Department of Commerce.
The grant application submitted by Thompson Falls earlier this year, called the Montana Emergency Tourism Assistance Program (METAP), was awarded to the city on Nov. 6 for the amount of $75,000.
Two 2025 Ford Police Explorer SUV Interceptor vehicles have been purchased from local dealer Rehbein Ford Inc. in Plains, at a cost of $46,539 each.
Both vehicles will have law enforcement equipment installed, which can take up to three months.
With proper care, patrol vehicles are expected to last well over 100,000 miles. Each of the four officers employed with the city have access to a patrol vehicle all times.
