Plains teams snare wins heading into Christmas break
It was the final “tune-up” of the year for the Plains Horsemen and Trotters, and they will go into the Christmas break with a pair of overwhelming victories under their belts.
This past Thursday the homestanding Plains boys took on Class C Alberton and routed the Panthers 64-28. Then it was the Trotters turn to run up a big win, beating the Lady Panthers 53-11.
The boys opened the two-game event with a big first quarter against Alberton, leading the Panthers 12-5 after eight minutes of play. Led by the scoring of seniors Darren Standeford and Zayden Allen, the Horsemen increased their lead to 30-12 at the half.
