Ralph H. Parkin, 81

Ralph H. Parkin, 81, of Superior, passed away on March 1, 2024. He was born on Feb. 22, 1943, in Superior.

 Ralph was a dedicated individual who spent 33 years in the Forest Service. He also served as the West End and Superior Fire Chief, part-time and reserve deputy for Mineral County, contract guard for US Marshalls, Superior Ambulance volunteer, search and rescue volunteer, hunters safety instructor, and hunting guide.
Outside of his career, Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking with his family, and in his younger years, he found joy in boxing and bowling. 

He was a family-oriented man who loved spending time with his loved ones and sharing his knowledge of nature, survival skills, and fishing. 

Ralph is survived by his wife Anita (Sloat) Parkin, sons Russel (Nancy) Parkin and Richard Parkin, daughter Angela Parkin, 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and counting, as well as his brother Ken (Ardell) Parkin. He was preceded in death by his parents Don and Peggy Parkin, late wife Norma (Shierding) Parkin, son Micheal Parkin, daughter Cherrie Jo Steinebach, grandson Tyler Steinebach, brothers Bob Armburst and Dick Parkin, and sister Jean Hill. 

A Celebration of Life for Ralph will be held at Savenac Nursery on June 29, 2024. The time is yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Superior Ambulance, Enhabit Hospice, or the Fallen Firefighters' Relief Association in his name. Contact family for more information.
