Hannum and LeCoure earn All-State awards
As expected the top two teams in boys and girls Western 7B dominated the recently released state and district all-star teams for 2023-24.
Eureka’s boys, the Western 7B regular season and District tournament champs, landed a pair of senior on the Class B All-state team, while the Mission girls also had two All-state performers.
Thompson Falls, which finished second in both boys and girls regular season and District tournament events, had one All-State player for each of the boys and girls teams.
Sophomore forward Gabbi Hannum was the lone Lady Hawk chosen to the All-State team, while junior forward Bryson LeCoure was named to the boys All-State squad.
Two Eureka Lions, seniors Braden Casazza and Tristan Butts were selected to the All-state team, while Mission’s girls (aka St. Ignatius) were represented on the All-state team by junior Kason Page and sophomore Cora Matt.
In addition to the All-state selections, two T Falls boys, senior Nick Tessier and junior Sam Burgess were chosen to the 7B All-conference teams, with Tessier joining LeCoure as a first team selection and Burgess being named to the All-conference second team.
Plains junior guard Darren Standeford made the All-conference first team while teammate Anaya Loberg, a senior forward, was named to the second team.
In addition to Hannum’s All-state selection, the T Falls Lady Hawks were represented on the All-conference first team by sophomore Solveig Nygaard, and the second team by sophomore Addie Pardee.
Mission’s girls led all 7B teams with five All-conference selections, while Eureka’s boys were tops with four total all-star picks.
Two freshmen, including Superior guard Gannon Quinlan, and Mission’s Karen Incashola were named to the All-conference second team. Superior forward Braelynn Mangold was named to the girls second team All-conference team.
Seven seniors were named to the first and second All-conference teams, while three senior girls were selected for all-conference honors.
Both Mission and T Falls girls return three players from this year’s All-conference line-ups to next year’s teams, setting up another Mission-Thompson Falls battle for the top.
