Mineral County deputies search for shooting suspect

Mineral County law enforcement officials on Monday were searching for a suspect involved in a shooting in Saltese the prior day.
The alleged shooter, Willie Joe Richardson, had not been apprehended as of Monday morning, according to the Mineral County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in Saltese on Sunday, Oct. 13. The community is on I-90 just east of the Idaho and Montana border.
Richardson apparently fled the scene in a black 2023 Kia Forte with Washington plates, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies later located the vehicle on Silver Creek Road south of Saltese.
Residents were advised to report any suspicious activity and to keep their doors locked while officials pursued the suspect.
Local, state and federal resources were called to assist in the search.
