Plains farmers market donates to senior center
During the last Plains farmers market of the year, organizers Chuck Haugen and Linda Wilson donate $1,000 to the Plains Paradise Senior Center.
Plains Paradise Senior Center Secretary Treasurer Linda Bursell accepted the donation.
Haugen and Wilson were able to make the donation after a successful year managing the market. Haugen said they had as many as 33 venders and 300 customers attending during some Friday markets.
“The general feel of the market has been warm and friendly,” Haugen said. “We have so much fun doing it.”
Commented Wilson, “It’s brought a lot of our community together. Next year we plan to donate to the Plains Food Bank.”
The check was the second donation the Plains Paradise Senior Center has received this fall. A $9,551 donation was received in September from the Clark Fork Enrichment Corporation.
Bursell said the money will go to make much needed repairs from water damage in their garages.
