Clark Fork Soccer Alliance accepted into U6 program

| September 4, 2024 12:00 AM

Clark Fork Soccer Alliance has been selected as one of 20 soccer clubs across the U.S. to participate in an innovative pilot grant project by US Youth Soccer.

This grant will allow Clark Fork Soccer Alliance to enhance our Under-6 soccer program by focusing on best practices for player and parent engagement, player skill development, and improving the playing environment.

Clark Fork Soccer will receive new equipment such as small-sized goals, and access to a groundbreaking grassroots coaching app developed in partnership with Disney and US Youth Soccer. Furthermore, our coaches will have the opportunity to benefit from online training tools designed to implement the latest techniques in coaching young players.

The grant also includes the chance for representatives from our club to attend the Grassroots Soccer Symposium in Salt Lake City this September. This event will offer valuable insights and the opportunity to share ideas with other leaders in youth soccer from across the nation.

Clark Fork Soccer will be making several key adjustments to our U6 program. These changes include using smaller fields with multiple goals to create a more engaging environment for the children, implementing a “rolling ball” restart to maintain the flow of the game, and expanded coach education programming. Feedback will be gathered from both coaches and parents through surveys to ensure continuous improvement of our program.

“This grant is a fantastic opportunity for Clark Fork Soccer Alliance to lead the way in youth soccer development,” said Nick Lawyer, Coaching Director of Clark Fork Soccer Alliance. “We are eager to integrate these new practices and provide our youngest players with an enriched and supportive soccer experience.”

Clark Fork Soccer Alliance invites the community to join us in this transformative journey. The soccer club is currently organizing training for U6 Coaches and parents will be contacted soon with more details as the season progresses. We look forward to a successful season filled with growth and enjoyment for our young soccer players.
