Music concerts return to the Sanders County Fair
The Sanders County Fair brought back a tradition by starting off the fair with a concert by Levi Blom.
Blom is a Butte native with musical roots anchored in country rock. Tour manager and backup guitar player, Nick Haines said the band plays around the Northwest and the rocky mountain region.
Blom started out as a hockey player until injuries put an end to a sports career. A shoulder injury caused Blom to refocus on his other interest, which was music. For the last eight years he has cut three albums with the latest being “Cowboy up.” Haines said they perform at lots of fairs and occasional personal events.
The band, in conjunction with Clark Fork Radio, ran a promotion called, “A date night with Levi.” Two couples were given tickets to the show. A meal for the evening was included and both couples had front row seats on the arena floor in front of the stage.
The winning couples were Scott and Di Di Johnson, Dallas, and Megan Swartzeatruber.
The opening act for Blom was a Montana native from Bozeman and grew up in Dillion. Kailie Marie spent the first hour singing many of the poplar county songs. She has been touring with Blom for the past 5 years and has been singing professionally for 25 years.
