PUBLIC NOTICE This is to notify all interested parties that the Sanders County Council on Aging will be requesting financial assistance from the Montana Department of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration. The Council on Aging is applying for a Transportation Administrative/Operating grant in the amount of $226,677.00. The Council on Aging is also applying for capital funds to purchase one 9-passenger, handicap accessible, van in the amount of $125,050.00 for the Sanders County Transportation to utilize in its public transportation services. The grant is funded by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and administered by the Montana Department of Transportation. The application is on file at 203 Main Street, Hot Springs, MT. If requested, a public hearing will be held and public notice indicating the location, time and date of the hearing will be provided. NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD Title lll - Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000 Notice is hereby given that Mineral County has opened a forty-five (45) day period effective February 5, 2025 to accept written comment from the public on the application of payments received by the County pursuant to Title lll of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self Determination of Act of 2000, as reauthorized (the “SRS Act”).Comment Period: Written comments will be accepted immediately through March 24, 2025 at 5:00pm, comments can be mailed or hand-delivered to: Mineral County Commissioners P.O. Box 550, 300 River Street, Superior, Montana 59872 These purposes are generally categorized as (1) activities under the Firewise Communities program; (2) reimbursement of costs for search and rescue and other emergency services on federal land within Mineral County; and (3) development of a Community Wildfire Protection Plan.
