Mary McGann, 77
Mary McGann went to be with the Lord on Feb. 16, 2025 at the age of 77 in Plains.
Mary Louise McGann was born on December 21, 1947 in Minot, North Dakota to
parents Lyle and Florence (Steen) Walton; grandparents Alfred and Mae (McIlroy)
Walton and Lewis and Alice (Twidt) Steen.
Mary lived as a child in North Dakota and eastern Montana and attended high school in Ronan, MT, graduating in 1965. She was married to Ken McGann that same year and they attended Canadian Bible College in Regina, Sask., Canada. Mary and Ken moved back to the states to spend four years pastoring a church in Whitetail, MT, where both of their children were born. The family then moved to Plains, MT to raise their family and were founding members of the Plains Bible Chapel, who will be celebrating 50 years in 2025. Mary and Ken celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in June 2024.
Mary’s life was filled with caring for her family, reading, sewing, teaching Sunday school and Bible study and working both in and out of her home at different times throughout her life. She completed her Canadian Bible College studies via correspondence course and received her Bachelor of Religious Ministries in 1995. She will be remembered for her gracious and nurturing care for others as well as her family. Mary was a follower of Jesus Christ since childhood and it is her heart’s desire for all of her family and friends to follow Jesus, also.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Craig and her granddaughter
Markkaya. She is survived by her husband, Ken McGann, son Kevin McGann (Tracy),
daughter Kendra Deno (Jeff); sisters Ann Sias, Peggy Webster (Jay), Claudia Paul and
brothers Bill Walton (Alice), Jerry Walton (Lydia) and Rande Walton (Barb);
grandchildren Kodee McGann and Kilie Burr (Jamie) and eight great-grandchildren.

Chapel on Saturday, April 12.
