Local woman dies in head-on crash

A local resident was killed Jan. 8 in a two-vehicle crash near Perma.

According to a Montana Highway Patrol report, the accident happened at 4:21 p.m. on Montana 200 at the intersection with Highway 382.

Two Thompson Falls residents traveling west on Montana 200 in a Ford Focus struck an eastbound Kenworth truck head-on as it began to turn left onto Highway 382. 

The 67-year-old female passenger died as a result of the crash, while the 67-year-old male driver was injured and transported to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. Both were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Roads were wet at the time of the crash.
