Bridge inspections planned west of St. Regis
The Montana Department of Transportation this month will be conducting bridge inspections west of St. Regis on I-90.
Last month, three crossings were inspected around Alberton and in July five will receive close inspections, meaning orange cones and single lanes with lower speed limits between Exits 22 and 25.
An Under Bridge Inspection Vehicle will be used to conduct the inspections. Each bridge inspection is anticipated to take up to four days to complete.
The state performs regular condition inspections of all in service, publicly owned bridges in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards. A bridge inspection provides information about a specific bridge’s condition, which plays a key role in MDT’s mission to maintain a safe and reliable transportation system.
