Temporary closure on Graves Creek Road
A temporary road closure has been ordered on a portion of Graves Creek Road due to hazards associated with ongoing road construction.
Effective July 7 through August 1, the closure will apply to Forest Service Road 367 (Graves Creek Road) at mile post 2.8 to milepost 6.0 at the intersection with Forest Road 7679 (Irv’s Creek Road).
The closure is necessary to ensure public safety while construction activities are underway and to allow for safe and efficient completion of the project. Forest users are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes during the closure period. Signs and notices will be posted at key access points and trailheads.
For more information about this closure, please visit fs.usda.gov/r01/lolo or contact the Plains/Thompson Falls Ranger District at (406) 826-3821 or the Lolo National Forest Supervisor’s Office at (406) 329-3814.
On the Missoula Ranger District, a stream improvement project is underway on Forest Road 699 above the Lee Creek Campground.
The project will result in the temporary closure of Road 699 above the Lee Creek campground from July 7 through Sept. 30 to allow for the replacement of three culverts on Lee Creek Road.
Existing under sized culverts will be replaced with Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) structures, which are designed to improve fish passage and restore natural stream function. This project will improve aquatic habitat and enhance long-term stream health in the upper Lolo Creek watershed.
Access to Lee Creek Campground will remain open and unaffected throughout the duration of the project. Visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly and respect posted signage and closures for their safety and the protection of ongoing work.
Forest visitors should anticipate construction activity in the area and plan for alternate routes if traveling beyond the Lee Creek Campground.
