PHOTOS: Dino Dig with Dads
The Mineral County Parents as Teachers program put on their annual summer Dino Dig event on Saturday, July 19. This year's sandy fun was focused on Dads bringing their little ones to Repke Beach in Superior to excavate buried "dinosaur bones". First, the mini paleontologists had to do some dino-sized stretching to warm up for their digging and searching(Mineral Independent/Amy Quinlivan)

After each digger discovered a bone, they were tasked with bringing it back to the beach blanket and working to identify what they found. Though leaders and participants couldn't agree on how long the digs have been going on, it's anyone's guess how many years, or even how many bones were dug up that day.
