Cats' Josie Crabb rallies for win
The "Road Warriors" continued their upward trajectory this last week playing in three invites in five days.
First stop was Anaconda where the Cats had duals with Missoula Loyola and the Anaconda Copperheads.
First up was Loyola, where Josie Crabb encountered the player that eliminated her from the 2024 State Tournament. This time Josie had the experience to rally as she came from behind to win in dramatic fashion, against Amalee Schneider, 3-6, 6-2,(10-6).
Not to be outdone by their singles counterpart, the number one doubles team of Perri Jasper and Cami Quick proved this can be done in straight sets, 6-4,7-5.
Coming from being down 4-5 in second set to gain a confidence builder for State.
Other victories against Anaconda was provided by the eighth graders where Mady Neu and Alyza won handily 8-1. And Kamryn Church held off her Copperhead singles opponent 8-4.
In total, for the day Superior won eight of ten matches.
Next on the travel docket for the Bobcat netters was a trip to the scenic town of Troy, Montana.
In the first match, the pair of double duels was a rematch of last month's tie with the Trojans.This this time it was singles power that provided the Bobcats the impetus for a 4-2 team victory as Crabb, Jasper, Quick and Church provided the margin of victory.
In the victory against Chester-Joplin-Inverness, it was the doubles teams' turn to provide the victory.
The eighth graders team of Neu and Wickham who came from behind using Neu's three consecutive aces and Alyza stellar volleying for 5-7,6-4,10-6 victory.
Next up were the three Missoula schools Hellgate, Sentinel, and Big Sky jvs. The Cats won eight of ten matches, finishing 4-1 against Hellgate, 1-1 against Big Sky, and 4-0 with Sentinel.
Next up for Superior is the Panther Open, this Saturday in Helena.
