I-90 bridges inspected near Superior
During May, the Montana Department of Transportation will be conducting bridge inspections on I-90. Inspections will be conducted on 13 bridges near Alberton and Superior, between mile markers 53 and 70.
Inspections will occur weather permitting. The state will have an Under Bridge Inspection Vehicle in place to conduct the inspections. Each bridge inspection is anticipated to take up to four days to complete.
The state performs regular condition inspections of all in service, publicly owned bridges in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards. A bridge inspection provides information about a specific bridge's condition, which plays a key role in the transportation department's mission to maintain a safe and reliable transportation system.
Traffic control will be in place while crews are present. Traffic will be restricted to one lane at times and travelers should expect reduced speeds of 35 mph in the work zones. The public is encouraged to contact Joan Redeen at 406-396-1978 with any questions or comments.
“MDT is a workforce of over 2,000 people across Montana determined to do all we can so that you arrive at your destination safely,” she said. “Our mission is to build, operate, and maintain a safe and resilient transportation system.”
