Superior tennis duo wins at Panter Invite
With darkness creeping in on the courts, there was a sense of urgency for the Superior Bobcat doubles team of Perri Jasper and Cami Quick.
Using “peerless” returns and mistake-free volleys the duo were able to pull off an 8-3 win during the Panther Invitational tournament in Missoula this past week.
Superior’s number one singles player, sophomore Josie Crabb, went 2-1 in the tournament after being upset in the second round. Despite the loss, Crabb finished the regular season 19-2 and established herself among the favorites in the upcoming post season.
The Lady Cats also got another win from the doubles team of eighth graders Mady Neu and Alyza Wickham.
“The two used very improved consistency in the serves and volleys to finish fourth against twelve varsity doubles teams,” said coach Rick Berreth. “They continue to make the unexpected the expected”.
Next on the schedule for Superior is the Northwest Divisional championship in Bigfork this Thursday and Friday (May 15-16).
