Plains High School art students showcased their creativity and talent at this year’s annual Art Exhibition, featuring more than 250 pieces of student artwork. A few select pieces were also available for purchase.

Students explored a wide variety of styles and mediums, including graphite, wood, ink, metal, charcoal, glass, watercolor, ceramics, acrylic and mixed media. The artwork was organized into several categories: AP Art, 3D Art, 2D Art, Independent Art, and Art 1.

One particularly unique piece, titled Spiderman, was suspended from the ceiling. Created by Kaylee Warta and Eleanor Bebb, the 3D sculpture was crafted from saran wrap and clear tape and dressed to match its superhero inspiration.

“It was fun,” said Warta about the creative process.

Among the standout artists this year was RuBea Privette, who submitted more than 35 pieces. Her mother, Glenda Privett, expressed her pride, saying, “I love it.”

She also noted that her daughter’s work will be featured in an art book to be published later this year. After graduating, Privett plans to continue her art education at the University of Montana.

Art teacher Kristen Cole was present at the event, helping promote the school’s growing art program. In total, 40 students contributed their work to this year's exhibition. Guests were treated to refreshments as they explored the impressive display of student talent.
