While they didn’t win the big prize, a number one seed in this coming weekend’s State B-C Fastpitch Softball championships in Glasgow, the Western 7B conference will be well-represented.

Three of the four seeds determined at this past weekend’s Western Divisional tourney in Florence are members of the 7B: Thompson Falls, Troy and Mission-Arlee-Charlo (MAC).

Florence, 23-2 on the year following their Western finals win over MAC this past Saturday, earned the number one seed from the West and will face the fourth seed from the Eastern Division, Huntley Project at 2 pm this Thursday (May 22).

Troy, the number three seed via their 12-8 consolation final win over T Falls, will take on Eastern number two seed Manhattan, while T Falls, the West’s fourth seed, plays top-ranked Shepherd (19-0) at 2 pm Thursday in the tourney’s opening round.

Florence will square off against Glasgow in the other first round game this Thursday.

Oddly enough, with ties in softball/baseball a relative rarity, this year’s B-C finals feature two teams with a tie on their record, in a game they played against each other.

Glasgow and Thompson Falls battled to a 6-6 two weeks ago during a tournament in Cut Bank.

First round winners will meet Friday morning.
