Plains students and staff prepared a special luncheon for other school staff members recently and the results were a true treat. Plains Schools Adult Education Coordinator Debbie Brown provided the menu and recipes while the students were responsible for preparing the food and dessert. The students made a variety of cupcakes from scratch, including chocolate brownie, Oreo and carrot cake. Brown’s daughter, Mandy Fausett, and Trista Feist taught the students how to decorate the cupcakes. They also made brownies with cherry centers, frosted chocolate cookies, S’mores bars, Twinkie cake and blueberry scones. For the luncheon, homemade barbecue meatballs topped the menu while a variety of salads were also served. They included 6-cup, corn, crab ranch pasta and strawberry cheesecake.
