Mineral County Sheriff Mike Toth presented Ron Drazon, center, with the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Life Saving Award last Wednesday for actions he took in December 2018. Drazon was inside a bar in Haugan when he witnessed the bartender cut another guy off because he had too much to drink. The suspect became upset and pulled a Glock .40 handgun out of his backpack and fire two shots at the bartender. Drazon,, with no care for his own safety, tackled the suspect and the fought for the gun. Drazon was able to get the gun away from the suspect and slide it across the floor. At this point other people came running in and helped Drazon hold the suspect down until Mineral County Sheriff Deputies could come and arrest him. Drazon did something extremely brave and saved not only the bartender but the life of others inside the bar. Drazon was hailed as a Mineral County hero and received a gift certificate for Quinn’s Hot springs resort. (Mineral County Sheriff’s Office photo)
