CFVH open house introduces new surgeon, equipment

Clark Fork Valley Hospital takes its role as the community’s hospital seriously, and part of that is making it fun.

The Catholic Church in Superior will host Lenten lunches on Tuesdays until Holy Week (April 14-20). The first lunch was March 12 and then held on Tuesdays until April 9. Lunch is noon to 1 p.m. The Methodist, Assembly of God, LDS, Catholic and Community Churches will be responsible for each lunch. Donations will be accepted with proceeds supporting a local charity. Super Heroes and Princesses party in Alberton

Super Hero’s and Princesses gathered at the Alberton Elementary School on Saturday for a little tea party with games and entertainment. The program was hosted by the Alberton Afterschool Program, the PEAK Foundation and with funding from the Headwaters Foundation.

Grinch makes appearance in Alberton

As people gathered in the Alberton community center to enjoy an evening of games and a potluck dinner late last week, a peculiar character was perched in the corner of the room. It was a green furry fellow, with a pot-belly and snub-nosed dressed in a Santa suit. Dr. Seuss fans would immediately recognize the popular 1957 character from the story “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” — the famous Grinch himself.

How Global Positioning System, or GPS, changed the world

This invention “saves millions of lives every year; it saves billions of dollars in better farming and more efficient travel; it eliminated carpet bombing during war time; and the Internet would collapse under its own weight; real time banking transactions would be impossible without it; and cellphone usage would be severely limited.” This is the introduction in the 2018 documentary, “The Lonely Halls Meeting,” which honors the inventors of GPS or the Global Positioning System.
