Joseph L Rickett of Missoula, Mt. passed away December 9th. 2012 in Thermopolis Co., Wyoming, thus ending a 65 year career in the logging industry. He had worked in Wyoming for the past 2 1/2 years.

St. Regis School District included on Governor Brian Schweitzer's budget for the 2015 Biennium Quality School Grant
St. Regis, Montana, November 27, 2012 -- St. Regis School District is included on the Governor’s budget for Quality School Grant funds as requested by the district earlier this year. St Regis a K-12 school district in Mineral County submitted a proposal for ADA upgrades to the library restroom, gym seating, ADA access to the stage and locker rooms in a budgeted amount of $185,837. The district approved up to 20% in matching funds to pay for ineligible costs such as legal, audit, and administrative fees. Superintendent Hanson explained the written letters of support from individuals, business owners, community agencies, and our state representative Gordon R. Hendrick were certain to have played a large part in the district’s success.

DEATH NOTICE: Former Plains resident Della Spindler, 93, passed away Monday Dec. 10 at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula. Services will be held Friday, Dec. 14 at11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ronan at a later date. Shrider-Thompson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. William J. Rich Jr.
William J. Rich Jr. passed away September 6, 2012. Billy was born to William and Leslie Rich Wednesday, March 3, 1976 in Missoula. Billy attended schools in Missoula, grade schools in Jefferson and Franklin and in August 1986 moved to Plains and continued his schooling in Plains and in his sophomore year returned to Missoula and graduated from Big Sky High School. Returning to Plains, he was employed at the VFW, Jenny’s Road House returning to the VFW until the time of his death. Billy is preceded in death by his grandparents, aunt and several cousins. He is survived by his wife Brandie, daughter McKinzie, sons Hunter and Aidan, his parents Bill of Missoula, Leslie of Plains, sister Susan of Missoula, nephews Nathan, Matthew and niece Ashley and his aunts and cousins and in-laws and many friends.
