Jim Johnson Track Meet kicks off the season

The annual Jim Johnson Track Meet was held on Thursday, March 29, kicking off the 2018 season. Teams from 17 schools met up at the Frenchtown fields to go head-to-head in track and field competition where Frenchtown led the boys with a score of 174 and Fort Benton topped the girls with 101.

Syrian refugees are not welcome in Sanders County

THOMPSON FALLS — The message is clear from the Sanders County Board of Commissioners: We do not want Syrian refugees on our land, “draining” resources, “impacting” the tax base, and possibly putting everyone in harm’s way. In an official letter addressing the issue, the commissioners cite a vetting process that is “foolproof”—meaning, one that cannot fail. Ever. And so, they have heard many voices ranging from Syrians are automatically terrorists to anti-Muslim attitudes—because according to many people, being a Muslim is proof of an egregious slight against the laws of God and nature.

Anderson is a local horologist. But at face value, the average glance at your smartphone digital clock kind of person probably wouldn’t admit to knowing what that is. He and his wife Mia came together like sort of like clockwork to run their small business, Saint Regis Clocks and Collectibles. They are a registered business with the state, servicing and selling antique and vintage clocks from all over the world.

This March marks the sixth annual presentation of "Lamb of God." A sacred work created by composer Rob Gardner, it is accomplished by an all-volunteer, interfaith choir, soloists, orchestra and narrators, with seven musicians from Mineral County.

The Clark Fork track team travelled to Polson on Thursday, April 13 for the Dave Tripp Memorial meet. Where Charlo placed first in girls team scores at 122.5 and Clark Fork placed ninth with 31.
