Class of Hot Springs to host debates for candidates

HOT SPRINGS – A senior class at Hot Springs High School is taking the classroom outside the halls of the school and relating the lesson plan to some real world applications. The senior United States Government class taught by Vicki Nytes is planning to host a forum for the mayoral and city council candidates for the community.

Bids must be accompanied by a deposit of $21,146.00, representing 5% of the minimum bid value of the sale in cashier's check, certified check, bank money order or bank draft to be applied to the first sale invoice for the successful bidder. Bid bonds will be accepted and, for the successful bidder, will be closed upon execution of the Timber Sale Contract and Timber Sale Bond. The sale will be awarded to the highest responsible bidder. Award of the timber sale is conditional upon approval of the timber sale by the State Board of Land Commissioners at their October 28, 2019 meeting. SNRC growls over bear plans for forests

TROUT CREEK – Biological concerns for bears roaming in the Kootenai National Forest have given cause for the Forest Service to explore bear management options that could potentially affect Sanders County residents; however, Sanders County Natural Resource Council maintains these effects have not been explained fully to the public and sought to inform the public Thursday evening at an open town hall meeting in Trout Creek.
