Roads open for firewood cutting

The Superior Ranger District will be opening some areas to firewood cutting that are presently behind closed gates. These roads have not been bladed recently and may contain rocks or other hazards. The date of opening for roads listed below will be May 14th, except for the Borax area roads which will be approximately June 1st depending on snow. These areas are as follows:

The Future Farmers of America State Convention took place April 4-7 in Billings where students from chapters all over Montana gathered to compete, learn and have fun. Nine St. Regis students participated with teams in Farm Agribusiness Management, Livestock Judging and Ag Mechanics. Chapter advisor, Chera Antos said the highlight of the trip was two of their State Degree recipients, Anna Sanford and Jacob Jasper, were recognized at an award banquet with family members present to share their achievements.

The Hamsteaks from St. Regis took first place during the Imagination Destination State Tournament for their musical challenge. As a result of their win, the Hamsteaks will be traveling to Knoxville, Tennessee to compete in the Global Finals in May.

Superior School locked down briefly

Superior School experienced a brief lockdown when a student made disparaging remarks to the high school principal, Chris Clairmont on Friday, March 9. The remarks were concerning enough for Clairmont to take action for both the high school and the elementary school to be on lockdown for almost an hour.
