Soaring in for breakfast
PLAINS – Bright and early Saturday the roar of propeller driven engines could be heard overhead throughout the town of Plains as pilots from across the region dropped by for the annual Fly-In Breakfast.
CFVH receives grant for better health
PLAINS - Clark Fork Valley Hospital partnered with the Frontier Medicine Better Health Partnership through a grant to improve healthcare in Sanders County. The grant funding was made possible by the federal Affordable Care Act, the Center of Medicare and Medicaid Innovation which provided $1 billion in grant funding to projects that would aim to improve health outcomes and care and increase efficiencies while lowering total healthcare expenditures. There were over 3,000 applicants who applied for the funds and of them 700 were approved. The Frontier Medicine Better Health Partnership is comprised of 25 critical access hospitals throughout the state of Montana including CFVH.

Lions Club delivers Christmas baskets
After stopping at Castles bright and early on Saturday, three trucks headed out into the different areas of Mineral County carrying food baskets and toys for families in need. One went east and one went west while a third stayed in the Superior area. Santa Claus also rode along to deliver presents to the children.

Bad weather rains on Alberton's track parade
It was the same old story for the Alberton track team last weekend. They traveled to Frenchtown for the TNT Invitational only to have the meet canceled after two events. Coach Rachel Clevenger said that it was the same thing as last year.
