Happy, Healthy Hikers' first trek is a success
Hikers travelled through dynamite blasted gaps above the old Milwaukee Railroad to Point of Rocks on Tuesday, April 30 for the first Happy, Healthy Hikers event of the season. West of Alberton, hikers from Mineral County and Missoula gathered for some exercise, scenery and a history lesson on the Mullan Road. Mineral County Health Department, The Montana Wilderness Association, The Great Burn Study Group, Zero to Five, the U.S. Forest Service collaborate once again to offer guided hikes for residents in Mineral County and surrounding areas, free of charge.

After only one meet, the Plains High School track and field team has put up some impressive numbers. Ben Gorham had his longest toss ever in the shot put with a throw of 45 feet, four inches. Gorham accomplished the feat under less than desirable conditions, throwing in a downpour at the meet in Ronan.

Keeping in touch with Rep. Pat Ingraham
Last week, the House Select Committee on Redistricting that I served on had their last meeting and took executive action on House Resolution 2. This bill will go the House Floor this week to be voted one, and then will be forwarded on to the Redistricting and Reapportionment Commission for their consideration on whether they accept the recommended changes. The Senate will send their own Resolution for changes on to the Commission for their consideration.

Homecoming festivities hit Hot Springs
HOT SPRINGS – Homecoming festivities took hold of the town of Hot Springs and did not let go for several hours on Thursday as the community gathered to support the high school and its athletic programs. Events included a parade, a rally in the park and games between classes on the high school football field.
