75 rafters tackle the Clark Fork River at reunion
Last Sunday, the Clark Fork River saw a surge of activity as about 75 family members from the Ward family reunion piled into eight whitewater rafts and floated from the Sander’s County Fairgrounds in Plains to the “Mouth,” an inlet about 10 miles toward Thompson Falls from Plains.

Food bank gets new location
Last Thursday was moving day for the Mineral County Food Bank located in Superior. Volunteers were on hand to help load food into trucks to be transported over to the new building, which is located off Fourth Street, just across the way from S & S Foods.

Lumber truck overturns near Paradise
Debris from an overturned lumber truck littered Highway 200 in front of Paradise Gardens after an accident on Tuesday just before 2:30 p.m. The wreckage left the highway closed for hours as crews cleaned up the mess.

SANDERS COUNTY – Members of the Montana Office of Rural Health held a focus group on Thursday in Plains and Friday in Thompson Falls to discuss the major health concerns of the county. All comments were to be kept anonymous and will be used to collect data intended to implement improvements.
