Emergency Planning Committee meets, adds several new members

Familiar faces with new titles were seen at the monthly Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting on July 12. Donna Richter has been named the new assistant fire chief. She is joining current Superior Fire Department Chief Steve Temple. Temple took over as fire chief from Rob Torrey earlier this year after Torrey stepped down from the position.

Heat can claim No. 1 playoff seed with win over Lima

With the top seed in the football state playoffs from the Class C 8-man Western Division at stake, Hot Springs closes the regular season by hosting Lima on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The Mineral Community Hospital Wellness Committee has set up programs to help area residents become a little healthier. They’ve set up a six-week program with participants walking 150 minutes per week.
