MCSO to begin school resource officer program

In the past, several deputies with the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office have tried to start a School Resource Officer program, however with limited staff and funding it was a challenge to have an officer working solely with the three schools in Mineral County.

Friends of the Library hold a fling

For the Friends of the Library, their mission is all about taking up the slack where funds are not available to do something. Leslie Heppe, Friends’ president, said that they step in when something needs done that the county is not able to do or the budget does not allot for to protect the future of the library.

The Mineral County Medical Foundation held the first annual “Gathering of the Wreaths” on Saturday. A decorated cardboard gingerbread house on the 4-H building’s door beckoned individuals inside to a Christmas themed showing.
